The fastest visual logic gate simulator in your browser. Paste truth tables, connect wires, and export directly to Verilog & VHDL in milliseconds.
Welcome to SQGATE, a comprehensive, entirely free digital electronics and logic gate simulator built specifically for engineering students, hardware hobbyists, and educators. In traditional academic and industrial environments, designing digital logic circuits often requires installing heavy, legacy desktop applications that are prone to crashing and have steep learning curves. SQGATE completely eliminates download friction by providing a full-featured Electronic Design Automation (EDA) suite directly in your web browser. Whether you are learning the fundamentals of Boolean algebra or designing complex pipelined processors, SQGATE gives you the tools you need in an intuitive, liquid-glass interface.
Our primary mission is to democratize hardware design education. For decades, students learning Verilog, VHDL, and gate-level design have been restricted by desktop-only limitations, complex licensing, and unintuitive user interfaces. With SQGATE, you can instantly start drawing schematics using our drag-and-drop visual circuit simulator. There is no wire clutter—our smart routing algorithm ensures your schematics remain clean and readable. Furthermore, you are not limited to basic primitives; you can package your validated circuits into composable Custom ICs, allowing for hierarchical design similar to professional VLSI workflows.
SQGATE is not just a combinational logic simulator. It incorporates a state-of-the-art Finite State Machine (FSM) designer, letting you visually graph states and transitions to instantly generate synthesizable Verilog HDL code. Additionally, it offers a sophisticated Karnaugh Map (K-Map) solver capable of minimizing expressions up to 6 variables, revealing prime implicants and the final Sum of Products (SOP). For those who learn best through gamification, our Logic Quest puzzle game provides a structured progression to master universal gates (NAND, NOR) and logic minimization techniques under constraints.
Every component of SQGATE runs client-side. This means zero latency during clock simulations, unparalleled privacy since your circuit data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it, and the ability to work completely offline using modern Progressive Web App (PWA) technologies. From half-adders to fully custom 8-bit CPUs, SQGATE is your gateway to mastering digital electronics.
Begin your design by opening the left-hand Library panel. Here you will find a categorized list of components ranging from basic logic gates (AND, OR, NOT, XOR) to advanced sequential elements like D Flip-Flops, T Flip-Flops, and J-K Flip-Flops. Simply click and drag any component from the library onto the grid canvas. You can use the search bar at the top of the library to quickly locate specific chips or I/O elements like LED matrices and hexadecimal displays.
Wiring in SQGATE is designed to be completely fluid. Hover over any output pin (indicated by a small circular node) until it highlights, then click and drag your cursor to the desired input pin on another gate. The simulator automatically routes the wire orthogonally, minimizing wire clutter and crossed paths. To delete a wire, hover over it until it highlights and press the Delete or Backspace key. Signal states are color-coded in real time: bright cyan represents a logical HIGH (1), while subtle dark blue represents a logical LOW (0).
Simulation is always live. To test your circuit, place an Input Toggle or Push Button from the library and connect it to your logic path. Click the switches to toggle their state and watch the signals propagate through your gates instantly. For sequential circuits, you can add a Clock generator and adjust its frequency via the right-hand Properties panel. Use the automated Truth Table Generator tool to instantly verify the complete input-output mapping of your combinational blocks.
Once your design is functionally correct, you can export it for use in FPGA toolchains. Click the "Code" button in the top toolbar to instantly translate your visual schematic into structural Verilog HDL. You can also package your circuit into a Custom IC for reuse in larger projects. Remember to click "Save" to store your project locally in your browser's offline workspace, or generate a shareable link to collaborate with classmates.

What is SQGATE?
SQGATE is a powerful, client-side digital logic circuit simulator designed explicitly for computer science and electrical engineering students. Whether you are learning the basics of Boolean algebra or designing a complex 16-bit RISC-V CPU, SQGATE provides a frictionless, zero-latency environment to test your architectures.
Why use SQGATE?
Unlike traditional legacy EDA tools that require heavy desktop installations, SQGATE runs entirely in your web browser. This means you can build logic circuits on your laptop, tablet, or even your smartphone. Our proprietary simulation engine resolves gate propagations in real-time, allowing you to instantly visualize state changes with glowing wires and interactive toggle switches.
Advanced Features for Students
We go far beyond basic AND, OR, and NOT gates. SQGATE includes advanced components like D-Flip Flops, multiplexers, and 7-segment displays. Furthermore, our platform is actively expanding to include a Truth Table Generator, a Karnaugh Map (K-Map) Solver, and an integrated Verilog Simulator. You will soon be able to directly export your visual circuits into clean, synthesizable Verilog HDL code, perfectly bridging the gap between schematic design and hardware description languages.
Privacy-First Architecture
We believe student data should remain private. All of your circuit designs and project files are saved locally in your browser's memory. We do not require a login, and we do not store your designs on our servers, ensuring absolute privacy for your intellectual property.
